Carefree, Arizona
As night falls in the desert I'm reminded how small we are compared to the vastness and beauty of nature. The sun is warm, well hot really during the day; but as night comes knocking in the desert all that changes. This fading of the sun in Carefree Arizona was breathtaking. We watched as the shadows grew and the sky and all around changed colors. The process really only took a few minutes; and then it was cold. Time to go. We enjoyed a drink while we watched natures spectacle take over. Colors beyond what an artist can capture on canvas, and beyond what the eye of the camera can hold for you as well.
Carefree is a small quaint little town north of Scotsdale Arizona. We took a drive there to see an empty plot of land (friends may build there after retirement). Gordon Lightfoot sang about The Carefree Highway after being in the area. It's a young town, an upscale town conceived not long ago reallty-just back in the 1950's. Street names give you a feel for the area, Tranquil Trail, Stagecoach, Easy Street, Long Riffle. The town motto is "Home of Cowboys and Caviar". I've only tasted Caviar once...fish eggs....then again I don't like cooked fish; soooooooooooo.

ReplyDeleteI love sunset pics. Wish I was there right now. Carefree is the best way to be. Sounds like a beautiful place for retirement - may need to add to my list.
ReplyDeletesorry i just got around to reading your comment.. and i don't know of another way to respond to you other than leaving a comment lol..
ReplyDeleteto answer your questions, yes I am employed I graduated a year early from high school, and went to paul mitchell the school and now work full time as a hairstylist. I'm paying for my road trip and I pay insurance and for the gas in my car. Your daughter sounds wonderful but also had a mom who supported her going to school far away and letting her have two jobs. my mother is a bit different than that... and believe me I would love to live on my own, but every time the subject gets brought up it ends up in my mother crying, pleaded "why do you want to leave"...
I know you weren't necc. trying to pick on me, and i know the way i wrote didn't really give any insight into my situation.
all i can say i guess is thanks for taking the time to look at my blog, and have a nice day.

I haven't been to a desert yet. It might be so calm and silent. A perfect place to have a peace of mind. Am I right? :)
This place seems nice but I'm not sure if it is worth living after retirement. Anyway it does look peaceful.
ReplyDeleteAmazing pictures. I've been to Arizona once and only for a short time (a couple hours). The landscape was beautiful as we came off the water. Definitely a place I would consider retiring to...but that's a ways off:)
ReplyDeleteHope your Thanksgiving was memorable.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I admire people who still appreciates nature. I think that we should always be reminded that nature is God's creation and appreciating it goes hand in hand with taking care of it. Thanks for this very nice post.
Awww your photos are amazing. I don't think I'll ever taste caviar all my life, it's too expensive.*grins* I love fish!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are all lovely! I like the reddish-orange color reflection of the sun. It's actually an unusual stuff for me.

Never seen this type of natural beauty in my whole life. The photo of nature taken in Carefree is so beautiful that i think of going to this place the coming year in February. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIts the nature gifted to desert that in the day light it is warm like the hell but when the night fall its too cold all around. I love desert because of it silence. We have the desert at the border of our country and some times I get the chance to go their since I have some relations there. I always love the silence and mystery of desert. I love the night fall of the desert. You said it well that we are missing the beauty of the nature which is spread all around by God.
ReplyDeleteWhile in Arizona my family and I were able to enjoy various day trips that took us throughout Phoenix and its surrounding areas. We enjoyed the Phoenix Zoo, the Desert Botanical Gardens, a wonderful water park, and an Arizona Diamondbacks baseball game. Finally, we booked an awesome Gold Mine Tour through Rackensack Canyon Tours. I cannot recommend this tour enough! It was one of our highlights while vacationing in Arizona. The tour was fantastic, from start to finish. Our guide was great and this tour should not be missed if you are vacationing in Arizona.
ReplyDeleteForaje, I see we've done many of the same things there in the area. Beautiful country for sure.
ReplyDeleteDid you see my other posts on the area?
