AtoZchallenge, Sunday Wrap Up and Thank you

I wrote 98% of my A-Z challenge posts ahead and had them scheduled for the correct days, as I knew I would still be traveling for the first several days of the annual April Blog Challenge.  I visited briefly here and there while away (limited time and internet); and have played catch up since returning. **the picture is my hubby in Morocco, which is where we were when our blog challenge began, there will be lots of blog posts about Spain and Morocco after the a-z challenge**

I return every visit.............except when people don't leave links.  Very frustrating.  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not leave the link to your google+ page.  It's next to impossible to find your blog.  What I think those who have google+ don't see is ...When a non google+ person visits your page we see the comments you've left on other peoples blogs........we have to hunt to find your blog, and even after hunting often it's not visible due the number of comments you've left elsewhere.  AND, if we non-google+ people are able to find your blog it's another 2 sometimes 3 clicks to get there..........then after reading and attempting to leave a comment we find we can not as your settings do not allow anyone (which includes wordpress, disgus, blogspot etc) who is not a member of google+ to leave a comment.  Since the whole point in the a-z challenge is to visit, meet new people....please open the doors to your blogs.

The easiest way to leave your link is to use the name and url option, url of the actual blog post, then I can return the favor of a blog visit and comment with 1 click.

The 2nd option is to leave a hyper link (NOT a cut and paste of your url)

  1. I just popped over to pay it forward as you visited my blog for the A-Z challenge, and boy do I hear what you're saying. I have had difficulty too, following this link to that link. I just wish there was a way to connect the multi blog platforms together especially for this challenge. Great blog, happy travelling, and thanks for commenting over on mine :)

    1. It seems to me the easiest way is name and url, but lots of folks won't add that to their blog because it comes with anonymous, so the next best is the hyperlink, which many don't know how to do, and requires extra typing. But the google+ pages truly are difficult.

  2. Hi,
Visiting from the A-Z and have to agree about the g+ thing. So difficult!
Keeping the blog separate from g+ works better for me all round.
    Best wishes,
    Nilanjana.

  4. Google + is kind of a pain. Some people love it for its SEO, and I get that, but man! Trying to find an actual blog? Add two extra stops. Pain. And of course, once you've changed over to google + you can't go back to your blogger profile.

  5. Right you are Crystal, that's why I have avoided it. But, those on google+...if they would just leave the url to their actual blog would be so helpful. I would imagine lots of folks don't even try to visit when they it's google+...I know I groan; but truly make the effort; but like I said....open the door

  6. Sandy, What a nice post. Thank you, too. I also traveled during the challenge. I was in Croatia for the beginning of the challenge. Enjoy your photos from Spain and Morocco.

  8. Nice post.
It's so true about Google +. I didn't even mean to join it and I did.
It's great that you mention the issue here.

  9. How cool that you were on the road at the beginning of the challenge! I'm still confused by the whole link thing on blogger. I keep trying different things, and if I'm lucky enough to get a live link, I lose my pretty avatar.
I'm going to try something new here though:

    2. Awesome Kirsten...worked fine and dandy. Your name goes to your profile page, but leaving your signature as a hyperlink takes me and all others easily right to your blog!
