Marriott's

Continuing to blog alphabetically for the month of April for the A-Z challenge brings us to M and today, let's talk Marriott.  Or maybe you like to visit an M destination, Manzanilla for instints, I've blogged about it HERE.   I've counted 38 Marriott Time Shares in the Continental US, however there are over 50 in 31 countries to choose from.  That's alot of locations and variety in activities as well.  Some are beach locations, others geared to golf, while others are geared to more family oriented destinations with things like Disney at hand.  Example there are 7 Marriott Time Shares in Hilton Head South Carolina (where it all began), and 7 in the ever popular Orlando and Disney area.

You can stay at your home resort, you can trade your weeks through Interval International, you can convert your weeks to destination points to stay elsewhere beyond your home resort, and you can turn your weeks into Marriott Rewards Points.  Maybe you've purchased more recently and don't own "weeks" but own trust points.  You can use your trust points to book at any of the locations and or use them towards tours or cruises.  Lots to choose from.

But, that's only one side of Marriott.  You can enjoy the quality of Marriott's without purchasing time share weeks.  There are a variety of Marriott Hotels, Marriott, JW Marriott, Residents Inn, Springhills, Courtyards and Renaissance.  With that variety there's always one near at hand.  With that variety of brands you also have many chooses in prize, room styles and amenities.  Some are geared more to personal travel, some more business, while others are nice adult locations and others geared towards traveling families.  Remember to use your Marriott Charge Card to obtain the most bang for your buck.

Pop in Often, remember Menu Mondays for dining tips, Traveling Tips on Thursday, and any day for vacation destinations.

  1. My parents purchased a time share when we were young, and it wasn't really worth the money. They would have spent less just to rent a place and take us all when they were ready to vacation. I'm not against time shares, but I really would rather just go when I want to go, know what I mean? It's too fun to be spontaneous.

  2. Not sure which type of timeshare your folks purchased, but we've more then gotten our money out of ours with the amount we travel. Some things I book well in advance and other times it's closer at hand, truly depends on our work schedules. Hard to be very spontaneous if you're working around kids school schedules, or your work schedule. We've traveled to places we never would have considered going if it weren't for the timeshares. A very positive experience for us which is why we continue to add to our portfolio. The price of most Marriott's on a nightly basis is beyond what we would pay to "rent" a room, so the timeshare works wonderfully well for us. Sorry your parents didn't enjoy theirs.

    1. Don't have to be wealthy Heather, we find it saves us money as we often cook in having the full kitchen.

    1. I'm always wanting to go on holiday, Natalie ...typically I have 3 or 4 trips planned ahead and or plan one as soon as we get home from one.

  5. My wife and kids travel so much, she tries to decorate our house in Marriott. They do offer a wonderful loyalty program. The kids love the perks once you make platinum. Which is your favorite location?

  6. Right you are on the decorating, we've borrowed the colorful through at end of the bed from Marriott when we redid our bedroom a few years back. We're platinum and it is nice. Favorite location ....we love Hilton Head in January and typically stay at Heritage and or Monarch there; but just returned from Marbella Beach in Spain and I'd really love to return there. Park City would be another favorite...the one in town not up the mountain, though I would imagine depending on the age of your kids they'd prefer the one on the mountain.

  7. I am a big fan of Marriott's hotels as their customer service is exceptional. When I stayed at the Courtyard in Sydney last year they happily let me go up to the room and shower after a running race, even though it was well after checkout time. I didn't expect it but its the little things that make all of the difference when you travel.
